Arsenalna metro station is the deepest in the world. Its depth is 105.5 m. The construction of this station is of the so-called English type – the station has a short hall inside, that is, the distance from the escalators to the wall is small.
This is the only station of this type in the Ukrainian capital. The station near the parliament building was built in 1960, one of the first. According to some reports, there are secret hiding places for the political elite in the tunnels near Arsenal.
